Evolution, Adapting, Moving On…..

WOW, what a rough couple of weeks. I would start at the beginning but I am not sure where that is. I will take things one at a time I guess and hope that I do not forget anything. If I do, I will just post about blog.

1) Finance:
We are in some dire straits right now. Our savings are almost gone. We are struggling to make ends meet. We are both looking for work but nothing is coming our way. I do not know how this will work out but I am doing everything I can to make sure that we do not end losing our home. Because money is tight and we are both stressed out, we have been fighting a lot lately. We are struggling but will make it through because we have each other.

2) Ford Fiesta Movement:
Due to the fact that Regina and I are both out of work and I fully expected to back to work 2 weeks ago as promised by my bosses, we decided with heavy hearts to pull out of the contest. I just feel like there are more pressing matters for us to deal with and adding the responsibility of the missions would just add to the pressure we are under. The Ford people were very understanding and as disappointed as we are. I will always look back at the Movement as a missed opportunity to take our projects to another level but I know that I did the right thing for Regina and I.

3) The Experience:

The April 12th show will be the last Experience w/Don Stugots and Regina for the foreseeable future. I feel like it has run its course. I never had an end date in mind when we started doing the show 2 years ago. Even when we took a few months off from it, Regina and I would do “the show” every night for each other. I loved just about every minute of doing it too. Regina is a natural at it and would pick up on almost all of the cues I would set up. I am proud of how we got better at doing it every week. Will we ever do it again? Maybe. Its not fair to ever rule out anything in life. The thought of putting the Experience on the shelf had come to me a few weeks ago but when we won a Fiesta I thought it best to continue it until the Fiesta Movement was over.

4) Stugots Puppet:

I never thought in a million years that when Regina said “lets get a puppet and make it look like a little you and do some fun stuff with it” that hundreds and thousands of people would enjoy the videos. We will NOT stop making them. It is too much fun for us both, really. In fact, I have two more videos completed that I will up load soon and more are on deck. No worries.

I would like to thank everyone for giving us their support and patience. A few people that stand out for their help in everything that we do. Hottub, the guy has been listening to us since day one, show one and has never stopped. During our hiatus, his constant nagging of “when is the show coming back?” kept the idea of its return on our minds. Mikey D, another guy that has been by our sides since from the start. Mikey has gone from someone that I listened to on the Ron and Fez show years ago to a close friend. Justjon, friend, webmaster, nerd. Jon has helped me to stay grounded and focused and introduced me to some great people (The Cool Kids of Twitter). Jon is a great guy that runs our site for us and will continue to do so as we move onto other projects. Other projects? wait for it…. Everyone at Mafialife.com. Shawn the mailman, lazy he is but he is there for me when I need him. Shelly from Samechick.com. She takes every one of our videos and makes them look like gold. She is a great person, talented editor, funny and a great friend. Regina, my partner in life. I am the man I am today because of her. With out her, I would be some crazy old man, walking around in my pajamas talking to myself by now. I love you Babe.

You can expect more blogs, more Stugots Puppet vids and some other stuff that I will be working on. Some things with Regina and some without. For now though, Stay Black…..

The Battle

I know I have blogged about my weight before but here is another one.

I am trying all that I can to eat right and to lose weight but I can’t stick to it. I don’t know if it is because of losing my job or my Dad’s health (update coming soon) or just a mental block but I can’t do it.

I start every morning intent on eating right and exercising but by noon, I haven’t done anything except walk the dog and had some snacks.

I am going to be trying hard to keep this promise to myself. The breaking point for me was last week looking at the pictures from our Night of The Living Bands II. I look enormous.

So, with that I am strengthening my resolve to lose 30 pounds by the end of the year. Starting tomorrow (4-11-09) I will start off by weighing myself. From there I will drinking more water and fruit and less junk and soda.

Wish me luck, I will need it.

Restaurant Review: Circles Grill

It pains me to write this about a place I use to love but Circles Grill no longer be getting our business. I don’t know if they changed owners or managers but last night was two times in a row that I have gone there and felt like my money would have been spent else where.

We walked in and sat at a corner table. It took 12 minutes before a server asked us if we wanted something to drink. After being told that they didn’t know if they could make us Sangria and going to check, they brought us some water. Ten minutes later, they brought out the wine, put it on the table and walked away. No pouring, not even a wooden spoon for us to stir it up with, no ice in our glasses.

After our food came, they gave us bread. Regina’s burrito was cold and the side salad was wilted, tasteless with an end slice of tomato.

My porkchops were tiny and warm, not hot. When I ordered them, the waiter said that he didn’t know if they had that. I have been eating there for 10 years now and the pork chops in mustard sauce has been a staple.

We got out check and seen that the Sangria was 22 bucks! 22! Ponderous. It was more than our meal.

We quickly finished, left a 2 dollar tip and left.

In times like these customers do not want to feel ripped off when eating out. There are plenty of other establishments to have dinner at.

#Fiestamovement

Tuesday Night Regina and I went to a Ford Fiesta Movement kick off and Tweetup at Nero’s in NYC. We were briefed on the car and allowed to test drive it around the neighborhood.

First, I want to say, WOW, what a cool car to drive. The fact that I was driving a car that the general public can’t gave me goosebumps. The car itself, is amazing. I didn’t have any expectations since I thought the car was just a redesigned Focus. Well, its not. This car has more pep, safety features and amenities than any focus I ever seen.

I also got to meet Julia Roy from undercurrent.com. Cute as can be.

Here is my profile on the Fiesta Site: Clicky Click
Below are some pics from last night. The car is smokin’ and I can’t wait to get ours in a few weeks.
